Equipment

  • Caydo 150 Pack 1 Inch Pom Poms, Yellow Craft Pompoms Balls for Kids
  • Prang (Formerly SunWorks) Construction Paper, Brown, 9" x 12", 100 Sheets
  • Prang (Formerly SunWorks) Construction Paper, Yellow, 9" x 12", 50 Sheets

Ingredients

  • Construction papers brown and yellow
  • White coupon/bond paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Marker
  • Pom poms yellow and white
  • Paper plate

Instructions

  • Create a round shape a bit smaller than your paper plate using yellow construction paper and a pair of scissors.
  • Draw connecting hexaagon shapes resembling a bee hive on the yellow construction paper using a black marker.
  • You can now attach your yellow "bee hive" onto the paper plate.
  • To make the bees' eggs, make small rounded pompoms (white pom poms) and place them in one of the drawn pentagon shapes on the yellow paper. Make sure to label them as eggs.
  • For the larva, use three white pom poms and wrap them on a piece of white bond paper shaped in a semi-cylindrical form mimicking the looks of a larva. Place it in one of the drawn pentagon shapes on the yellow paper. Make sure to label it as larva.
  • For the pupa, use another three white pom poms and wrap them this time on brown construction paper, and form it into a semi-cylindrical shape similar to a larva. Place it in one of the drawn pentagon shapes on the yellow paper. Make sure to label it as pupa.
  • Create your adult bee by connecting three yellow pom poms using a glue stick as its body. Then use a marker to design the body with eyes and stripes that will make it look more similar to a real-life bee.
  • You can create a pair of wings by cutting out two pieces of paper shaped like bee wings. You can use a pen to draw veins to its wings then attach them to the back part of your adult bee.
  • To finish your craft, put the adult bee in one of the drawn pentagon shapes on the yellow construction paper. Make sure to label it as adult bee.
  • Hooray! Your bee life cycle craft is now done!
