What do children learn from cutting?

Let’s be honest, we parents usually only look at the academic side of things when we teach our kids how to read, write, count, and all of that good stuff. It’s fine and I understand that we sometimes forget that some skills also need to be learned, like using scissors!

Opening and closing scissors can help your kids build up small muscles in their hands which are super important for everyday activities such as drawing, using cutlery, brushing their teeth, and many more.

Basically, their hand muscles are the foundation to learn all these important life skills and there are so many benefits for them to learn how to use scissors properly, not only for safety reasons.

Teaching your kids how to use scissors may be scary at first, but I guarantee you that it will be a lot easier once they get the hang of it. With you guiding them and the kids doing the work, nothing is impossible in terms of motor development!
