Preschool Human Body Printables

When you have to teach about the human body, there’s a lot of new vocabulary that has to be taught first. These preschool human body printables with the 3-part cards are great for teaching new vocabulary words.

These human body worksheets are a great aid to your child as they learn about the body because all of the material is in front of them.

My daughter is always asking me about what is happening to her food after she eats it. I know that kids always find the end destination of food in our bodies hilarious.

When we studied muscles, I think the best takeaway my son had was his new favorite word, gluteus maximus, in case you didn’t know, that’s butt.

You can cut up the cards and remove the words and then have your child try to match them up. These printables focus on the major organs of the body: the brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, small and large intestines.

Preschool Human Body Printables

  • 4 pages of 3-part cards for vocabulary
  • 2 pages of a male and female body outline
  • 1 page of major organs

The organs can be cut out and then placed onto the body so your child can get a sense of where the organs should go in the body. It’s not to scale but it’s a fun puzzle for your child to try to solve.

The small intestines graphic isn’t as accurate as I’d like, it should consist of a set of tubes winding around each other. If it was stretched out, it would 5 feet or 1.5 meters long.

This includes an answer key but the kidneys are difficult to see, they are positioned in the back relative to all of the other organs.

Do the children match the body part cards to themselves?

Yes, you can cut out the 3-part cards, and then use mix up the words and have your child match up the cards so they look like the whole card with the word on it.

If your child can read, try not to use the card with the word on it and see if they can remember the vocabulary word without looking.

For the image of the body, there is a male and female body to choose from.

Cut out the organs to place them on the correct location on the body. Not visible in the picture, but the kidneys are located in the lower back area.

Your preschooler will love this human body activity.

Discuss how the organs belong to different systems in the body. The brain controls the entire body and is responsible for feeling pain, heat, and touch through the nervous system.

The lungs belong to the respiratory system and provide oxygen to the body and expel waste by exhaling carbon dioxide.

The heart pumps blood through out the body and carries the oxygen with it to ensure each part of the body is oxygenated.

The kidneys are part of the excretory system that make urine to get rid of waste from the body.

The other organs, stomach, liver, small and large intestines, belong to the digestive system and help the body digest food to get nutrients into the body.
