Paper Plate Piggie Craft

Reading Mo Willems’ books became a regular bonding time for me and the kids and they truly love the stories. Elephant and Piggie are some of our favorite characters from Mo Willems’s books. So the moment they’ve learned we are doing this Paper Plate Piggie Craft, I know they are excited!

If you enjoyed this craft, see this list of fun animal activities for kids.

When my son discovered those pigeon books, he fell in love with reading, and now at 9 years old, he still loves reading them with his sister. They love the silliness and craziness of Pigeon’s outbursts.

With so much technology surrounding our kids, I truly appreciate it when they can get into a real book.

Elephant and Piggie's We Are in an Art-ivity book

If you’ve seen our Pigeon and Duckling Felt Story Board, you know we’re huge Mo Willems fans.

That’s how we were introduced to Mo Willems and then we had to read his other books too. If you’ve met Elephant and Piggie, they’re up to the same kind of troubles and make normal activities so much more fun.

Disclosure: I am part of the Mo Willems brand ambassador program with Disney-Hyperion and I received compensation as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Enter the We Are in an Art-ivity Book!, the activity book for Elephant and Piggie. It’s filled with creative drawing activities that make it fun to use this book.

I’m so worried the kids will destroy the binding of the book because they’ve been using it so much. There are dot-to-dot puzzles, secret code puzzles, coloring pages, and pages to tear out and make into games. It’s a whole mess of fun with Mo Willems’ humor splashed onto each page so you can expect the same kind of fun from his books.

Mo Willems' Paper Plate Piggie Craft

There you have it– your own paper plate Piggie. It’s a super simple craft but my daughter loved adding all of the tissue paper and making a mess of the squares I cut out.

My daughter has already asked to do Elephant next. She can’t wait.
