Community Helpers Time Puzzles

If your kids can’t count by 5, it’s a perfect way to get them started, they’ll love these community helpers time puzzles.

With digital clocks everywhere, teaching your child to tell the time on a regular lock can be a fun math exercise.

Kids shouldn’t have to rely on their phones or tablets to tell time so let’s show them how to tell time on an analog clock.

This is also a great way to learn to count by 5’s.

I’ve found that when we’re on a regular schedule and my 5-year-old has a sense of time, she likes to stick to her schedule. Schoolwork happens after breakfast, lunch at noon and so on.

So working on having your child on a schedule will make your homeschool day much easier.

Your child will know what happens when and doesn’t have to ask you a hundred times while you’re on the phone.

Print these out onto paper or cardstock, I laminate mine so we can use them again and my daughter gets frustrated if they get bent. I keep all of my puzzles in a ziplock bag and store them away to be used again.

To extend this activity, plan a visit to local fire department with your class, bake cookies for your police department, discuss ways that you can help your own community and see how you can be a service to your community as a whole family.

Things like visiting a nursing home, volunteering for the food bank or humane society are some examples.
