Fun Ways to Play with Slime

The best part about slime is that you can have it for so many different things. Slime is fun to make and fun to play with, too!

Use slime for learning and creating

If you’re used to having the kids play with playdough, why not try and do the same thing with slime? See if they can use the slime to make shapes or even letters! This is great for working on their hand-eye coordination as well as on their fine motor skills. This means that they can use it as a learning tool as well.

Use slime to stretch

How many times have you asked the kids to do something and they just haven’t wanted to do it? That won’t be the case with slime! You can easily have the kids stretch the slime to work those hand muscles! In fact, they’ll have a blast doing so!

Challenge them to see just how far they can stretch the slime so that it works for their hands really well.

Have the kids build something with their slime

Did you know that slime can be a super fun way for the kids to create something unique and fun? Who knew that you could easily use slime to create fun things? This is a great exercise that will have them thinking outside the box to use slime for something fun.

They can build shapes or see if there is a way to use the slime to create a play area for some of their toys. Make certain that things that they use with their slime aren’t going to stick for later. This can be a huge issue and clean up the mess.

How can you keep slime from drying out?

Since you’re taking the time to make slime, you’re going to want to keep it fresh and soft as long as possible!

If you put it into a container to save it, it should actually last for quite some time. The truth about slime is that you need to store it in an airtight container so that it doesn’t dry out.

My kids are certain that you should be able to bring back slime once it’s dried out but I can promise you that it’s never the same once it’s dried out.

The best way to ensure that the slime is going to be able to be used for a long time is to store it in a container with a lid. We’ve stored it in bags but containers are the best bet.

Will slime mold?

More than likely no but when you’re using slime on surfaces and with hands, there’s always the chance for germs. If you notice that the slime is dirty or moldy, just toss it in the trash and make it again.

The great part about this slime recipe is that it’s fast and easy to do.
