We’ve had quite a battle over school work this week so I’m going to have to make some changes.
M1 has become very combative over school work so I’m going to go to a reward system. We were having math issues before so if he finished on time within the allotted time, he is able to play on the computer for 10-15 minutes. I’m going to a token system where he can earn tokens for computer time for all his subjects because I’m tired of nagging.
I’m so so tired of nagging. He has a schedule and knows what he needs to do, but it’s getting the day started. He picks up a book and gets lost in time. I don’t want to ban books, but it’s getting out of hand. I need to try something new. I hope to come up with something over the weekend.
We didn’t get very much done this week so I’m hoping next week is better. We watched a few Magic School Bus videos and read a lot.
I continued on with M2′s schedule just fine. We read and did math 4 days this week, he loves coloring in his alphabet book.
The baby is constantly exploring new things and getting into all kinds of mess. However, she does spend a lot of time during her day chasing the cats. She’s too slow to catch them and they don’t seem very concerned with her at all but she loves them.
We’re still reading through A Nother Whole Nother Story and M1 is still reading How to be a Pirate.
We were able to take a trip to the butterfly conservatory, the boys love it there, even though you can get through all the exhibits in about 30 minutes. They love bugs.
I’m officially finished my master’s program. I uploaded the final version. It feels wonderful. I’m beyond elated, now I want to spend some time decluttering while I start on something new.

It seems that all kids through through some “challenging” patches of homeschooling. (Wonder if it’s the same for kids in public school?) I know my daughter had a couple of years like you described. Is your son 10? Hang in there!
Congratulations on completing your Master’s! It was hard enough for me to do before I had children…can’t imagine doing it now. That’s quite an accomplishment!
I’ve been wanting to go to the butterfly conservatory again. It’s been a while, and I know my girls would enjoy it:)
