THEMUSEUM Review

We had the opportunity to visit THEMUSEUM in Kitchener, Ontario and it was such a great time to visit because their dinosaur exhibit was on at the time. We love dinosaurs especially the kids. The first floor is actually my younger son’s favorite place in the museum. They have huge foam blocks and a platform where kids love to build a house and things to play in. 

We always spend a great time here just watching the kids play, my oldest will go off and explore since he’s beyond the building stage and wanted to get upstairs to see the exhibits.

The second floor has a huge floor piano with a large water table for the kids to enjoy. They have this cool stop motion camera where you can create your own videos which I thought was cool.

The third floor had the dinosaur exhibit, you can see my son pretending to be eaten, he’s always so silly. They also had these large movable heads of T-rex and triceratops where you could look behind their eyes to see what they see which was pretty cool. This is my oldest playing with the robotic dino.

On the last floor, I was surprised to find that there wasn’t more dinos here but what we did find my kids loved even more. It was a science lab exhibit. They put on their white lab coats and stood under this pretend shower to clean themselves off and washed their hands. They were able to use rubber gloves to transfer little beads from funnels into the large test tubes to mimic a sterile environment.

There was this large outline of a body and they had to put in the puzzle pieces that made a body healthy like nutritious food, exercise and other good habits, that was great. Before you leave that floor, there’s a giant balloon room, my hubby went with my daughter so she wouldn’t get trampled on but she was fine. One of the balloons did pop as they were leaving but they weren’t phased by it.

We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again, the kids had a blast.

THEMUSEUM is located in downtown Kitchener, you can park on the small side roads or there’s a large garage nearby.

General admission for the museum is $11.95, ages 3-13 are $8.95, children 2 and under are free. They have $5 Wednesdays or you can purchase the family pass for 2 adults and 2 children for $35.95.

It is open from 10am to 4pm on the weekdays except for Wednesday when it’s open until 9pm. On the weekends, it’s open until 5pm.
