Even though the summer months are all about relaxation, we still like to do some learning as well. The best way to get the kids on board is to combine some learning with some fun. And this is why these puzzles are the best.

They’re the perfect way to combine learning and math – without making it feel like they’re in school.

Summer Addition Puzzle Supplies

All you need to get started are a few of the simple supplies listed below. I like to actually keep them on hand at all times because I use them in all my crafts and printables!

I have the HP printer 8710 but it’s not available anymore. It’s still running well for years now. Look for another HP Instant Ink ready printer so that you can use their program to send you ink cartridges whenever your printer gets low on ink.

Print out these puzzles onto paper or cardstock for more durability. Cut out the puzzles and you can laminate them if you’d like them to last. My daughter hates it when her puzzles get bent and they don’t line up properly so I like to laminate them.

To extend this activity, you can add in your favorite summer books, head outdoors to play in the sand or work in the garden.

Recommended Summer Books for Kids

Ready for a fun summer season? Grab these books and teach kids about the things summer can offer like summer camps, beach day, and outdoor adventures!

You know that we LOVE books so having seasonal reading material is key! I like to make sure that I rotate them out so that it keeps the books new and keeps the kids interested.

If I rotate books and mix in a few new ones with a few older ones, I find that they do a great job at reading them over and over again without feeling like it’s a bunch of repetition.

These are just a few fun books that I think you’ll love to have in your book rotation, too!
