Centreville Amusement Park Review
We had the chance to visit Centreville Amusement Park earlier this summer and the kids had a blast. The unique thing about Centreville is that you need to take a ferry to the island to get to the amusement park. So I haven’t been there since high school but I didn’t realize how busy the ferry was. My hubby looked it up and read some reviews that said it was busiest from 10am to 2pm. We decided to head over after 2pm since we’re not morning folks anyways. Well, we parked at Yorkdale Mall and took the subway down and the got on the street car to head onto the ferry.
This whole journey itself was a first for my two youngest as they had never ridden the subway system. We didn’t have a vehicle with my oldest so public transportation was the only thing happening for us. When we got a the ferry pick up area, the lineup was huge, according to the pirate, yes there was a women dressed as pirate I think to entertain the people in the line, told us it was going to be a 3 hour wait. My hubby took off and then after chatting with security got us tickets and we were through. Don’t ask me how because I don’t even know how he did it.
The ride over on the ferry was packed but we the kids enjoyed being on the second deck and observing everything. We waited at the back to ensure we were the first ones off. The park a little ways off from the ferry and we walked over to pick up our tickets to explore the park.
The park is filled with fair type rides, not gigantic roller coasters but fun rides for the kids. They really enjoyed touring the park on the train the went around the park. Please hold onto your littles because you go over some bridges which aren’t covered that made me a bit nervous. My 3 year old had small section of rides that she could go on her own and she loved that, next to that the older boys had stuff to do on their own.
There’s lots of choices for food and the rides were geared towards my 7 year old but my 13 year old had just as much fun. We definitely had to bring out stroller for my daughter because it was a lot of walking.
The park closed at 8pm when we were there so we headed off to catch the ferry at 7:30pm. We missed it and had to wait to the next one but it didn’t take too long.
The park as a farm but when we were there we had missed them. It was a lot of fun for the kids and the ferry ride home was a nice way to end it.
You can visit the Centreville Amusement Park with your family of 4 all day ride passes for $120 you can add on another ticket for $30. You can also purchase individual tickets and then buy tickets for the rides.
Don’t forget you’ll have to buy tickets for the ferry as well which were $7.25 for adults, children 2-14 $3.50, under 2 are free.
