Back to School Shopping List
I love this time of year when the stores set up their back to school sales. Yes, I know, I’m a nerd. I’m like a kid in a candy store. Even if I don’t need something, this is a great time of year to stock up on supplies while they are on sale.
Basic things that I always like to have a steady supply of include:
- pens
- pencils
- erasers
- lined paper
- printer paper
- ink toner
- scissors
- a good sharpener
- pencil crayons/crayons
- glue sticks/white glue
- dry erase markers & wet erase markers
- binders
These are my staples that I always have no matter what. I also like to have crafty art supplies, because who knows when one of the kids will get a creative bug. These are my art supplies that I like to stock.
- construction paper
- pipe cleaners
- beads
- stickers
- bingo dabber
- glitter pens/glue
- paint + paint brushes
- foam cutouts
- pom poms
I don’t usually have to buy all of this at the start of the year because I keep buying throughout the year to replenish our supplies. We don’t do clothes shopping either. We just buy them as needed. I don’t find that clothes go on sale anymore at this time of year, but I’m not looking that hard either.
My boys shoes last a couple months and we just buy them as needed. I don’t think kids need to return to school with the latest and coolest gear to impress their friends. I hope to impress that onto the children, that it shouldn’t matter what they wear or if they have the latest iphone or not, their friends should still want to be their friends no matter what.
