Felt Gingerbread Men Craft

I love this time of the year because we are getting closer to Christmas, and a great way to celebrate is with cookies or we can pretend with felt gingerbread men instead. A great way to entertain your little ones is through felt craft projects.

They’re the perfect activity for busy bugs. You can use them to entertain your toddler while you teach older kids. It’s a wonderfully quiet activity that my daughter enjoyed when she was young.

You can be creative and cut out any kind of shape that you like using any color felt that you want as well. My daughter really loved the zig-zag pattern, circles, and hearts.

Felt Gingerbread Men Craft Supplies

I used felt sheets that I ordered off of Amazon.

• brown -cookies
• white – eyes, mouth
• pink, green, purple, red, yellow -decorations

I cut different shapes so that my daughter could decorate her gingerbread men with buttons, a bow tie, swirls and zig zag patterns and of course hearts. I cut out circles for eyes and a mouth. I did everything freehand so I don’t have a template to share, except for the cookies, I found one online and then traced on to my paper from the computer screen, save some ink.

If you’ve been following along I’ve been felting like crazy because my kids love what we’ve created. Since we’re heading into the winter and Christmas season, who doesn’t love gingerbread men cookies. Well, now your little one can decorate her cookies any way she likes.

I gave her all the pieces with the decorations neatly laid out to see what she would do with them. The first thing she said when she saw it was “Cookies!”

She first looked for items for the eyes and mouth and then started piling on everything else. She started laughing when one of the gingerbread men lost their eye but that didn’t stop her and she continued on to dress him up with my cute bow tie.

How to store your felt crafts?

Since we’ve been working on different felt projects, you may ask how I’m storing them? I didn’t want them all lumped together because sometimes a set has very specific pieces.

I place each activity in a Ziploc bag and they’re all stored together. Each set has to be put away before another one comes out.
